Vitalware modules and how to work with them

In this section you will find a description of each Vitalware module and details about how the module is used to manage vital records.

In alphabetical order the Vitalware modules are:

Module (click for details)	Description
	Used to run administrative tasks, e.g. end-of-day reports.
	Records all (auditable) changes to a record.
	Contains the registration of birth details and is used to produce a birth certificate.
	Provides call centre staff with easy access to key information in registration modules and POS without the need to open those modules.
	Contains end-of-day and end-of-month transaction processing.
	Contains audit information about certificates produced.
	The Communications module supersedes the Correspondence module. Unlike the Correspondence module, which records communications related to a POS record, the Communications module can be used for all communications (letter, fax, email, phone call) related to a registration or POS transaction. Additionally, Communications allows for formatted letters (unlike the Correspondence module which only allows simple text).
	Contains details about correspondence between the Registry and its clients and stakeholders.
	Contains the registration of death details used to produce a death certificate.
	Contains the registration of divorce details used to produce a divorce certificate.
	Holds one record per set of export files produced. When a Scheduled Export is run a new exports record is created containing the output of the export process.
	Records details about all fields in all modules in Vitalware.
	Used for the management of groups (of records). All of the functionality available from the Tools>Group menu is available, plus additional functionality (including the ability to create a dynamic Query group).
	Displays the Vitalware Help.
	Contains invoices for all invoiced POS transactions.
	Contains details about induced terminations of pregnancy.
	Contains payment information about orders made in the POS module.
	Allows Lookup list entries to be edited or added.
	Records bride and groom intention to marry.
	Contains the registration of marriage details used to produce a marriage certificate.
	Contains the results of the match lists automatic process that runs overnight and finds records that may be linked to each other, e.g. deaths to births. The Match List database allows Administration staff to check records before they are linked.
	Stores all multimedia resources, e.g. images, videos, sound files.
	Contains details of requests for certificates where the record could not be found on the System.
	The Scheduled Operations module is for scheduling operations to be run immediately or at a specified date and time.
	Contains order information about orders made in the POS module.
	Contains contact and address details for all organisations or persons associated with your Registry, e.g. hospitals, funeral directors, marriage celebrants, birthing centres.
	Contains point-of-sale information about orders made for certificates, products and services.
	Contains all products that can be ordered, e.g. birth certificates, death certificates, CD ROMs, historical manuscripts.
	Contains financial information about daily till takings.
	Used to set up user access to different fields, modules and functions in Vitalware.
	Holds sample information. A sample is a subset of records on which it is possible to perform some processing (typically quality assurance of records that were keyed externally).
	Holds one record per Scheduled Export configured in a module and contains the definition of the export.
	Manages the secure certificate stock handled by a Vital Records Office.
	Contains records with computed statistical values. The Statistics facility (introduced with Vitalware 2.1.01) allows statistical information to be generated on a regular basis (hourly, daily, weekly or monthly) and stored in the Statistics module for later use.
	Contains details about Foetal deaths, e.g. stillbirths, miscarriages.
	Stores template information for a task or series of tasks that needs to be performed on a regular basis.

The management of the records and operations of Registries of Births, Deaths and Marriages involves a vast amount of information about people and organisations, events, purchases, administration and more.

In Vitalware this information is stored in modules that are specific to the type of information. For example:

The POS module manages all product purchases and applications for services (certificates, changes of name, adoptions, disinterments, etc.), including fees collected and disbursed.
The Products module stores information about products for sale (e.g. marriage and birth certificates).
Births, Deaths and Marriages modules record registration details about births, deaths and marriages and are used to produce certificates.
The Parties module stores information about people and organisations involved with your Registry and registrations in any way (hospitals, funeral homes, government organisations, celebrants, etc.).

Vitalware modules are accessed through the Command Centre, which displays when you log in to Vitalware.
